A Special Satellite Session of the Ninth Annual CUGH Global Health Conference
Date: 15 March 2018
Location: New York, USA
Organiser: University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine
Summary:
The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) will be hosting a series of satellite sessions on March 15, 2018, as a pre-conference added value. Presented by the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Washington State University Global Health, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC), the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, and VetAgroSup, this half-day session will explore how true interdisciplinary thinking and action addresses the challenges of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals extend beyond traditional health metrics to incorporate educational opportunity, gender equity, and environmental sustainability. Meeting these goals requires integrated approaches with a clear focus on outcome metrics—“we measure what we value”.
Join today’s leading researchers and practitioners in the One Health field for an integrated perspective on the current trends within the constantly changing global health space. Session attendees will gain a broader mindset to impact pressing issues and shape the future of the global health ecosystem.
This dynamic four-hour workshop is designed to increase awareness of One Health approaches, successes, and challenges, and designed to create new partnerships among attendees to better meet the global challenges embedded in the Sustainable Development Goals.
